Environment, ecology and sustainable tourism, highlights of the First Open Day at Finca Solmark<\/strong><\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>

It will be held in its facilities in Carratraca, Malaga, on 5 October at 11:30 a.m. , and will be attended by the President of the Regional Council of Malaga, Mr J. Francisco Salado<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Finca Solmark<\/strong><\/a>, rural ecotourism of Spanish-Swedish origin, which embraces ecology, care for the environment and the enjoyment of nature, holds its First Open Day <\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0\u00a05 October at 11:30 am<\/strong>\u00a0at its facilities in Carratraca, \u00a0, Malaga.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main purpose of holding this event is for all the people who want to visit the Finca to spend a day in nature with their families and friends, to participate in the activities that are held, to taste the local products, and above all, to discover its essence first hand.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

\u201cIt is in our DNA to be a socially responsible company and to become a changemaker, since our project has a significant social and environmental impact\u201d<\/em><\/strong>, said its Swedish founder,<\/em> the swede Pelle Lundborg. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

These Open Days, which will have the participation of the president of the Regional Council of Malaga, Mr J. Francisco Salado<\/strong>, are also an excellent opportunity for local businesses in the area to be seen and for attendants to get a taste of products, services and trends in the rural sector first hand. Companies in the sphere of\u00a0sustainable rural tourism<\/strong>\u00a0(Galeota Turism<\/a>, Carratraca Rural),\u00a0bioconstructions <\/strong>\u00a0(Gronkode),\u00a0environmental education <\/strong>\u00a0(UMA),\u00a0agricultural machinery <\/strong>\u00a0(Agr\u00edcola Nevada),\u00a0 renewable energy<\/strong> (Campohelios), Bonsai art<\/strong>\u00a0(Universo Bonsai<\/a>),\u00a0 Handmade bread<\/strong>\u00a0(Piquitos Rubio) and well-being and personal growth<\/strong>\u00a0(Book for Wellness), among others, have already confirmed their participation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Different practical activities will be carried out throughout the day from a \u201cGusaparos Workshop\u201d to teach the kids about the life cycle of insects, to an extra virgin olive oil tasting or a visit to one of our mineral exhibition organised by the Professor of Genetics at the University of Malaga Dr. Enrique Viguera and granted by \u201cTalks with Science\u201d<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for this purpose.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Beyond being a charming rural accommodation, Solmark wants to favour the change of a\u00a0conventional agriculture to a sustainable and ecological agriculture<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0and also promote ecological tourism in Andalusia. To do so,\u00a0 it offers solutions for rural depopulation in the area\u00a0 (activities, workshops, events and talks) and teaches new progressive ideas for\u00a0 caring\u00a0for and respecting the environment.<\/strong>\u00a0During the event, some of the upcoming initiatives it is organising will be shown, such as\u00a0the \u201cHarvest Festival for the Olive Tree Sponsorship\u201d\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0that will be held on 23 November.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

These first Open Days coincide with Finca Solmark 's incorporation into\u00a0Foretica<\/strong><\/a>, an organisation that is a benchmark in sustainability and corporate social responsibility, whose mission is to integrate social, environmental and good governance aspects into the strategy and management of companies and organisations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

In Lundborg's words,\u00a0 \u201cit is not easy to describe the Finca, where you can relax in full nature, sponsor an olive tree, plant an avocado, collect ecological fruit from the orchard, visit insect hotels, wander around in one of the precious sites to meditate, enjoy extra virgin olive oil that we produce or participate\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> \u00a0in some of the clean-up and recycling activities<\/a> that we organise, among others. Most importantly, it is about environmental awareness and that people understand that we are all responsible for taking care of the planet, starting with oneself. Many people speak and watch but take no action\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Also, at the end of the open day,\u00a0 a lucky draw of some tickets to visit el Caminito del Rey<\/strong> among professionals attending the event, el Caminito del Rey being a candidate to become a\u00a0World Heritage<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and an olive tree will be planted as a tribute to\u00a0Candela Arroyo,\u00a0<\/strong>one of the sportswomen who has been awarded this year together with her team \u00a0\u201cChampions of Spain of Beach Handball in female youth category\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
